Content Filter Lists

In 2010, we advised participants to avoid potentially triggering subjects when talking about their lives and experiences.  We did this because at the time, it was the only way we knew how to make the event safe for the most people to participate.  However, we understand that these limitations may silence people who very much need and want to tell their stories, to give a full picture of all the lives and experiences of Autistic people.

For that, we need to allow people to be free to express themselves without barriers, to allow all people to tell their stories.  We need to allow this, while still being able to make sure that there is a safe environment of those who wish to participate, yet are not comfortable with certain subject matters, and those for whom certain topics pose a threat to their well-being.

Also, we realize that people may only want to read from Autistic people, or from our non-Autistic allies.

So we have a system of tags for people to filter through posts.   Tags are available below, as well as in the side-bar.

Autistic:  These are posts written by Autistic people only, with both trigger-free and trigger-warning materials.

Allies: These are posts written by non-Autistic allies only, with both trigger-free and trigger-warning materials.
