Descendant

Through intuitive familiarization

I am an Autistic descendant

Of Frankenstein’s Creature,

Sherlock Holmes,

Sondheim’s Georges Seurat,

Jerry Espenson,

And Jake Bohm.

Some might claim illegitimacy.

With each word I write

I carry that badge

I know the responsibility

And I accept the challenge

To help change the discourse

Of my Autistic ancestry.
